Story
Source: Science Fiction Serials
Stanley Standield, young scientific genius and the son of a newspaper publisher, seeks vengeance against a cabal of dishonest politicians who persecuted his father and caused his death. Stanfield has invented a device capable of making him invisible, and he hopes that Carl Van Dorn, respected authority on electrical energy, will help him perfect it. Van Dorn agrees to assist him in the completion of the invisibility device. Stanfeild tells Van Dorn that he plans to sell valuable newspaper bonds in order to back the project.
Leaving Van Dorn's office, Stanfield rescues Gloria Grant, a newspaper reporter, just as she is about to be struck by a fire truck, only to find that she is the daughter of his chief enemy, Wade Barnett, leader of the crooked politicians. Gloria tells Stanfield that she is opposed to her fathers activities and disapproves of his methods, and that she has adopted an alias while working for the Tribune as a reporter.
When Stanfield visits his attorney to sell the newspaper bonds, he finds wade Barnett there. A violent argument ensues and Barnett pulls a gun. A struggle breaks out, Stanfield wrenches the gun away from Barnett. When Barnett's henchmen arrive in the office, they find Stanfield holding the gun, and Barnett frames Stanfield for the lawyer's death. Realizing that he appears to be guilty, Stanfield bursts out of the office and hurries back to Van Dorn, chased by Barnett's lackeys. Aided by the "invisibility ray", Stanfield escapes capture, but his is pursued by his enemies after he leaves the building. He drives away and attempts to cross railroad tracks in front of a speeding train; his car is demolished but he survives the accident.
With Van Dorn's assistance, Stanfield employs a vast array of super-scientific devices (including a "destroying ray" and a robot) in his struggle against Barnett and his cronies. Stanfield eventually succeeds in his crusade to prove his innocence when Barnett is killed while trying to escape from the Police. With Barnett's criminal activities revealed, Stanfield's name is cleared and he is free to pursue romance with Gloria Grant.
